In Wyoming shooting prairie dogs for three days.

We didn’t get on the ranch until around 11:00 to start shooting Tue.  We got caught in another Hail, rain, lighting, wind storm in the afternoon.  Couldn’t go anywhere, we just set it out.  Shot my 221 FireBall all day and shot around 150 dogs,

We did have a small problem Wed, when we got up to have breakfast we couldn’t see across the parking lot because of HEAVY FOG.  It didn’t burn off until around 10:00 and we didn’t get to the ranch until around 11:00.  Started the day with my 17 Rem FireBall and shot three dogs and all of a sudden started missing by feet, scope went belly-up, it was an old BSA I’ve had for years.  Had to go back to the 221 FireBall. Shot another 150 dogs that day.

Then Thur came, overcast crap weather.  We had to leave early to get to Denver.  So the day was short again.  I did get to shot my 22 PPC, that rifle is fun, a real laser.  Because of the weather and short day only shot 109 more dogs. Total for the trip, 409.

Total varmints for the year, 5,550.

  • Total prairie dogs for this trip: 409
  • Rifles used: 221 FireBall, 17 Rem FireBall, and 22 PPC
  • Total for the year: 5,550
