2017 Trip #7

11 – 12 July to Wyoming, Me, Myself, and I

Hardly a real trip.  Took my new 6 BR to my gunsmith in Lusk, Wyoming to get finished up.  So he bedded it into the Boyde stock to get everything set-up better.

While there he showed me how to get my AR shooting better by installing an Accu-wedge.  It’s a small rubber wedge that fits under the back take-down pin.  So It gives a tighter fit between the upper and the lower.  I’m setting up at the gun show here in Denver this weekend.  As a result  I will be looking for one or maybe two.

The bedding worked, all three of my loads shoot around a half too three fourth of an inch or better.  If I did my part.  Wednesday morning he got it all cleaned up  and I headed home.

On my way I stopped at a ranch near Douglas, Wyoming too shot a few dogs.  I shot 50 rounds, had two doubles, and killed 43 dogs.  The first 3 or 4 I held to much into the wind and missed on the wind side.  I tried hitting prairie dogs in the head at 300 yards. Because they were looking over the edge of the hole in the wind I didn’t do well.  Now to get out for a three or four day trip and give it a good work-out.

Weather started coming in.  I only shot for an hour and a half.  The ranchers LONG HORNS did came over for a look and lost interest after a few minuets.

All round good couple days.
