My friend and I started this trip with rain, not good.  But the good thing, we needed rain, what was bad is the roads turn to mucky mud.  The fields are usually easy driving, just not the two tacks.

The first day was a little exciting, we was in the middle of a 1,200 acre field when a thunderstorm hit, nowhere to go. Not fun setting in a very large field with lighting, thunder, and hail all around.

I have just street tires on my truck and they were pretty much useless, good thing for 4 x 4.  We didn’t get stuck, but we made a mess.

The second and third were good.  We shot almost 1,100 prairie dogs, I shot 570.

My rifles of choice this trip were:  20 Practical, 20 VarTarg, 17 Hornet, and my 17 Rem FireBall.

Didn’t do any pics.

  • Total prairie dogs for this trip 570, 5,000 here I come
  • My count for the year, 4,420.
