Three day trip to SE Colorado.

Got on a new ranch, life is good.  The ranch owner showed up around noon and we got to shooting around 1:00 PM Friday.  The grass/weeds were VERY high.  Springfield has had three times the rain they normally get early in the year.  The weeds were a real problem, we had to move around to be able to see at time. The prairie dogs were just eating away, they hadn’t seen so much GREEN grass in their lives.

I used my 223 AI (Big Boy) and a 223 Rem in stainless steel, had some old ammo, prairie dogs didn’t care.

We left Sunday around 3:00 PM, it’s a 5 hour trip back to Denver.

My friend and I shot 739 dogs, me 373.

  • Total prairie dogs for this trip: 373
  • Rifles used this trip: 223 SS Rem and one of my 223 AIs (Big Boy)
  • My total for the year, 4,793.
