On this trip I took three guys from Ohio on a prairie dogs shoot in Wheatland, WY.

First day was a bust for me, I got them on some dogs, not many.  Spotted for them, no shooting.

We moved 40 miles to a new ranch the next day.  Spent 2 or 3 hours getting the lay of the land and didn’t do to bad after that.  Very nice day and the sun was out nice. The next two days I blazed away. 560 dogs (mostly pups), keeping as good as a count as I could. Around 50 doubles and 25 triples. I know I lost count a couple times.

The ranch had a couple rain showers; so we had to dodge some muddy roads and fields in a few spots.  We didn’t get rained on per-say, it did rain in the night, once.  Kinda muddy. Took over $5 worth of quarters to get the big stuff off when I got back.

The third day was real good, the pups were out in numbers and the shooting was hot and heavy with everyone getting several doubles; I had a few triples.

The guys got in some good shooting and I ended with 560 prairie dogs for the trip.

I shot my 22 KHornet the most, pups were in close.  I did get some long shots with my 20 Practical, when I wanted to take them.
